Structured Cabling System

    Structured Cabling System (SCS) is an absolutely necessarily sub-system of the intelligent building. It is the system to transfer the information of voice, data and image. A well-designed cabling system should be open, flexible, expansible, and independent from the equipments. The system meets the rapid development of the technology and ensures the customers to gain the reliable guarantee of their investment.

 

1.Structured Cabling System solution

1.1 Summary

Structural integrated cabling system has become the basic facilities of a building nowadays. It is the medium of information transmission in a building or among buildings. It connects not only the communication equipments, exchange equipments of voices and data, and other information management system, but also other sub-systems of intelligent building. Its flexibility, compatibility and reliability are recognized by customers in China. It has already been applied in the government departments, banks, large-scale enterprises, real estate industry, etc.

1.2 Components of SCS

SCS consists of six sub-systems:

Work area sub-system

Work area sub-system is made of cabling from the terminal devices to the information outlet. The terminal devices include computers (PC, workstation, server, printer etc.), telephones, Fax machines, duplicating machines and so on.

 

Administration sub-system

Administration sub-system is made of the connected patch panels, which facilitates the system management for the administrator to realize cabling management. It is easy to track the patch cord due to its perfect design, and the cabinets in each floor or patch panel saves 50% of space, compared with the traditional patching case owing to its small size.

 

Horizontal sub-system

Horizontal sub-system adopts the Cat.5e or Cat.6e cable to connect the information outlet and administration sub-system.

Backbone sub-system

Backbone sub-system connects administration sub-systems from equipment management center to each floor. It is suggested to adopt the fiber cable as the backbone to connect the core administrative sub-system to the equipment center. As for the backup backbone, Cat.6e copper cables are recommended, which enable the system transfer speed reaches as high as 1G BPS.

Equipment Room sub-system

Equipment sub-system connects the network cabling systems and primary equipments, by outfitting relative adapters which include the Ethernet Switch, PABX, Router, server and firewall configured in the equipment center, for different equipments.

Building sub-system

Building sub-system connects the buildings.

 

2. Advantages:

The cost of an integrated network cabling system is only 10% of that of the whole network construction; however, nearly 70% of network problems come from the inferior cable parts and cabling technology. As a result, a well-integrated network cabling system will facilitate our work and life.
